Title:Firewall Administrator
Job Location :Egg Harbor Township , NJ


A3 Technology is searching for a full-time Firewall Administrator to join our Network Operations support team in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. This individual will be responsible for supporting the operations of firewalls throughout the enterprise infrastructure to include daily operations, internal team support requests on what ports are needed to be opened, protocols, monitoring traffic, and creation of VPN connections. In addition, they will support performance tuning and optimization of Check Point firewalls, firewall policy's, and root cause analysis utilizing packet captures, logs, and other analytical tools.



  • Daily operation of Check Point firewalls (e.g. configuring, upgrade, rule creation and modification, etc.) for firewalls throughout the enterprise
  • Monitors system resource allocation and utilization
  • Setup and manage Site-to-site VPN connections
  • Performance tuning and optimization of Check Point firewalls and firewall policy's
  • Troubleshooting firewalls at command level
  • Perform root cause analysis utilizing packet captures, logs, and other analytical tools
  • Support technology lifecycle from deployment to decommission
  • Support, develop and maintain written standards and policies, network diagrams, firewall documentation and related documentation
  • Configure dynamic protocols to include OSPF and BGP


Skills Required: Minimum of 5 years of Checkpoint Firewall administration experience in large Enterprise environment with multi-layer routing protocols.


  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with Checkpoint's next generation firewall
  • Familiarity with Checkpoint models, capabilities, and architectures including firewall virtualization
  • In depth understanding of Network Ports, Network Address Translation and Access Lists
  • Advanced level understanding of TCP/IP and common network protocols
  • Strong background in supporting network and security technologies
  • Prior support experience with Load Balancers, Active Directory and Mobility
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to produce usable and maintainable documentation
  • Time management skills with proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks


Skills Preferred:

  • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) R77 or R80
  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) R77 or R80
  • Experience using a Helpdesk system – BMC Remedy is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with 5 years relevant experience or HS/GED with 11 years relevant experience
